Amenities at the custom home on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands include 100 feet of ocean frontage, and a pool and spa

Listing of the Day

Location: Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

Price: $29.5 million

Former Morgan Stanley CEO John Mack and his wife, Christy Mack, redesigned and renovated this six-bedroom beachfront home in the heart of Virgin Gorda’s 400-acre Oil Nut Bay resort.

Known as Nonamé, the six-bedroom villa offers 100 feet of beach frontage, a media room, a separate chef’s kitchen and a large outdoor entertainment area with a pool and spa and outdoor kitchen, and easy access to the resort’s Beach Club and other amenities.

The Macks originally bought an undeveloped lot at the resort and then traded it in for a built spec house, said listing agent Roz Colthart, real estate director at Corcoran BVI. “They decided to refurbish it completely,” which took four years, wrapping up in 2019.

Christy Mack’s “attention to detail was just incredible,” Colthart said. “Everything has been coordinated. She did everything in a beautiful, contemporary and very luxe way. She has exceptional taste.”

The villa, which is being sold furnished, is “right next to the Beach Club and the public amenities,” including pools, a bar, restaurants and tennis and pickleball courts, she said.

“People love being on the beach,” she said. “It’s a mile-long beach and you can walk right into the water.”

Oil Nut Bay is “designed for family vacations,” Colthart said. “It’s very multi-generational, and this house fits right in with that.”

The resort, which was created by entrepreneur David V. Johnson after he bought the land in 2008, features 180 lots in 15 neighborhoods, she said. So far, 67 lots have been sold, with 44 built houses and another 10 under construction.

At the villa, “you walk into a really nice open courtyard space,” she said. “It feels very tropical.”

The centerpiece of the home is an expansive open-plan living, dining and family kitchen space with a cathedral ceiling and multiple sofas, according to the listing. It opens completely to the pool area and the ocean beyond.

Two primary suites face out to the beach, Colthart said. All of the bedrooms are en-suite, with walk-in closets and double sinks, and five of them have outdoor showers.

The 5,981-square-foot home has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and one partial bathroom.
