Coming Soon: Sundara Spa + Studio

Activities
October 4, 2024 | Emily Oakes

With its namesake as the Sanskrit word for beauty, Sundara Spa + Studio will be a sacred space that hovers over the crystal-clear water of Oil Nut Bay. Sundara was designed to be a place for tuning into the inspiring, grounding and healing power of the sea, and nurturing the mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing of its cherished community and guests.

Designed by U.S.-based Jenn Zella and her creative world-class CID Design Group and Architect Carlos Agelet De Saracibar of OBMI, the Sundara Spa + Studio embodies thoughtful, purposeful design and natural elegance. Featuring abundant glass with nearly 360-degree views, Sundara will offer home owners and resort guests the opportunity to unwind among the elements of water, wind and sun. Windows in the floor of each key space grant views of the rippled turquoise water and sea life below. A thatched roof adds to the tropical charm while vertical screens allows for intimacy, filtered light and textured shadow-play. Ambient and underwater lighting design will create a soft and relaxed atmosphere day and night.

A thoughtfully equipped hospitality bar will offer spa infused waters, herbal tea, and chilled towels. A modest retail niche will quietly display well-curated mindful brands while the heart and midpoint of the Sundara wellness studio will be furnished with lounge seating, an altar, and live plants. Designed to be versatile, the studio space will be customizable to host a yoga, Pilates, dance, guided meditation, sound baths, and wellness-centric social gatherings. With four walls of operable glass, the space can be open-air or conditioned for all-weather multi-purpose use. Two treatment rooms encompassed by glass and underwater windows will be for massage, stretch, skin treatments and infrared therapy, with two additional treatment rooms dedicated to hair and nail treatments.

Oil Nut Bay’s Spa and wellness offerings draw inspiration from the sea and surrounding terrain to promote mind, body, and spiritual well-being. Each treatment at Sundara will feature VOYA products, the world’s first certified organic seaweed-based skincare range. VOYA blends cherished natural resources with a wealth of the purest organic active ingredients and essential oils. The brand aligns with Oil Nut Bay’s ethos to use paraben-free, cruelty-free, and sustainable products so that guests can experience the luxurious benefits of holistic wellbeing in its purest, most natural forms.
